Information on why we require the Username and Password of Developer Accounts for iOS and Android.
The sharing of personal information can always be ominous; however, we are dedicated to data integrity and take your privacy seriously.
From time to time, you may be prompted to complete a 2-Factor Authentication within the control panel, which requires you to have both iOS and Android Developer credentials added to the system within your App Publishing Info under the Advanced tab.
We require this to be up-to-date because some operations require the account holder or owner permissions and cannot be delegated to a third party to perform.
You may be concerned about adding your credentials, rightfully so, especially in today’s age, however when those credentials are added into the control panel, the information is saved and encrypted, our agents cannot see the password nor access the password. Once this information is saved, we can use it to generate your app’s build and perform any necessary publishing tasks.
Where does it go once it’s stored?
We store these usernames and passwords in an encrypted state on our server to be able to generate the required certificates needed to publish the application. Only our server can access those since they are backed with 2-Factor Authentication that only validates the server to access the account.
In all, there are never human eyes on your developer credentials. With 2-Factor Authentication, your data is stored and protected with the highest industry standards.
Summary:
We require the username and password in order to perform the following:
- Generate new builds for your application.
- Gives the App Owner or Account Holder the ability to allow us to complete actions for the app on their behalf.
- These credentials are never viewed by human eyes nor accessible for review.
- The usernames and passwords are stored in an encrypted state on our server and are only accessible through 2-Factor Authentication.
